Airbnb Review: MPlace Tower B, Quezon City

This is my second Airbnb booking. I picked it from amongst ten other units in the area because of its price, and I like what I saw in the photos. The reviews are also favorable, so I thought I’d go for it.

The space is not as big as I expected. It is good enough for two guests, probably three. A bit too small for a group of four.

The bathroom was quite dirty. They just poured blue cleaning liquid in the toilet so the stains appeared when we flushed it. My sister had to clean it herself because she dreads dirty toilets! 
Book this place only if you are not very particular with tidiness.

Airbnb Review: MPlace Tower D, Quezon City

This one is better than the unit that we recently booked in Tower B of the same condominium complex.

The lobby is impressive! The room is overlooking the pool area, and the only thing that bothered me was the dark ceiling in the bathroom caused by an apparent leak from the unit above. Ceiling leaks are very common in SMDC condominiums, and office buildings.

Also, the lavatory faucet in the bathroom is broke, so you will have to use the kitchen sink for toothbrushing. The wifi speed was quite fast by Philippine standard. Not bad for a short, overnight stay.

Airbnb Review: French Nest, Sandico Street, Baguio City

My sister liked this one better than the one we booked at MPlace Tower B in Quezon City. Being a condo owner myself, I couldn’t help but observe everything in the building. The lobby, with the reception directly facing the entrance, looks more like a hotel than a condo lobby. I like the fact that you cannot select a floor number in the elevator without your card key. We don’t have that in our condo.

The unit is in the basement where Globe signal is at zero. If you are a Globe user, you may not want to book this place. You will need to go out if you need to call or text somebody.

The building acoustics are not good, you can hear noises from the hallways and adjacent units. Plumbing noises are annoying, you can hear toilet flushes from the units above, and you will know when your neighbors are taking a shower!

If you are going to Baguio without plans of staying out until midnight, this may not be the best place to get cozy and sleep all day. Overall, it was good enough for its price.

Airbnb Review: Talagang Dalaga Resort, Paete, Laguna

This was my first Airbnb booking. It was fast and easy!

I arrived in Paete three hours ahead of my checkin time. I went around looking for a coffee shop, and found Cafe Quesada. I stayed there for a good two hours before heading to the resort.

There were only two small groups when I arrived. The owner invited me in their house (just beside the resort entrance) and offered me sweetened bananas as a treat! She was very nice and we had a very short, perky conversation before they showed me my room. It’s a cottage with it’s own bathroom and veranda. It was quite big for a standard accommodation.

I thought more guests would arrive in the afternoon, but I realized that I was the only guest who’s staying for the night. Everyone left just before dusk so I had the entire resort for myself for the entire night. I didn’t feel scared for some reason, but I might think twice about doing this again in the future.

Overall, Talagang Dalaga is a lot better than the resorts in Pansol. I don't know how it is like during weekends and holidays when it’s full, but if cottages and a little bit of nature are your thing, this resort fits the bill.

Fuente de Aguas Resort, Paete, Laguna

Fuente de Aguas Resort is one of the newest resorts in Laguna. It has one main swimming pool, and a kiddie pool. They provide sound system, and grills for your barbecue. It is ideal for groups who want to rent the entire place for a day, for a rate of only Php4,999 for up to 50pax (as of September 2017). They have rooms for morning to afternoon accommodations.
